AI is a large, powerful environment, with the flexibility to allocate resources among clients dynamically as they are needed and relinquish them when the need passes. Because you are working with resources that can be increased or lowered, not discrete servers, you have tremendous power, disk storage, network bandwidth, and full redundancy to handle your heaviest loads. What you don’t have is the expense of a large dedicated environment that may not be fully used much of the time. This environment (see diagram) is made up of multiple high-end host systems, and a Virtual Center system that continually watches the resources of the servers. Virtual Center re-allocates AI resources between the servers dynamically as needed, based on load and availability. We ensure that there are always enough resources on a single host so that if one host is unavailable, the other can handle the entire load without performance degradation. An additional benefit with this environment is that it is possible to move AI Servers between host machines with zero downtime.

On the back end, we are using redundant high-performance storage area network devices. These are used for data by the AI servers; the host machines have their own local disks for the operating system, to prevent contention with data access needs.  Plans start at $499/month.
